Florida Emergency Managers Worry About Those New to Florida

Most of us that have lived in Florida are hurricane savvy. However, newbies here to Florida better be prepared.

We all know what happens at gas lines. Groceries empty the shelves and coolers nowhere to be found. Let's not forget the traffic heading north. If you are leaving, you better get on the road early or you can be in some long traffic jams.

Last but not least, let's not forget about our safety and health concerns. I, Barry Frette, personally lived through Hurricane Andrew and Miami was shut down for weeks. You better have your meds, and and whatever else for you and your family well prepared in advance of a hurricane. Have your plan! If not, it could cost you dearly.
